How much of the data on top Polymarket traders can you actually use to pick who to copy?

Published 2026-10-30

Key findings

  1. In the Oct 28 leaderboard snapshot, of the top 50 on the Wakeloom leaderboard, 17 (34%) use third-party data and are marked "Some checks pending": Wakeloom has not yet run its concentration, market-making and wash-trading checks on them. None are in the top 10; 4 are in the top 20.
  2. In the Oct 28 leaderboard snapshot, 9 of the top 50 (18%) show resolved markets capped at "20,000+". All 9 are third-party, and all 9 show "No data" for 90-day win rate and ROI.
  3. On wallet pages fetched on Oct 30, cross-checking Polymarket's official 30-day profit leaderboard (top 100) against Wakeloom's public wallet pages: 49 are third-party and unverified, 22 have fewer than 20 resolved markets, and only 15 show a composite score. On the 30-day volume leaderboard (top 100): 81 are third-party and 26 have 20,000 or more resolved markets.
  4. The share of likely market makers is unverified in this study. Live public pages do not yet show a "Likely market maker" label; the FAQ only states that such addresses are not ranked.

A leaderboard rank is a starting point. Check the data source first, then whether there are enough resolved markets, then whether win rate and ROI are actually shown.

What this means for picking traders

  1. Check the data source. A third of the top 50 use third-party data; their win rate and ROI may be calculated differently, and market-making and wash-trading checks have not been run. Review their trade history on Polymarket yourself.
  2. Resolved markets matter. 22 of the profit top 100 have fewer than 20 resolved markets. A big 30-day profit may come from one or two events, and win rate on such a small sample says little.
  3. Read "20,000+" and "No data" together. Wallets with more than 20,000 resolved markets trade very often; latency and spread may make that hard to copy, and their win rate and ROI are not shown.
  4. Very low drawdown deserves a second look. 16 of the top 50 show max drawdown below 1% (Oct 28 snapshot). Low drawdown is not the same as low risk; read it together with resolved-market count.
  5. A ranking does not predict future results. Wakeloom is in preview ("Preview: simulated copy-trading only, not yet launched"); test with paper trading first to see results after latency and spread.
